With all her recent success, it’s important to remember that Lauren Daigle actually got her national start on American Idol. Lauren was an untelevised contestant of American Idol for Season 9 and Season 11, after she was encouraged by her family to compete in the singing competition. On both occasions, she made it to The Final Judgment and Las Vegas Round respectively before getting cut. Since then, Lauren has been on American Idol, but as a mentor to aspiring contestants, back in season 17.
But this time, Lauren revisited American Idol as a coveted headlining performer. The Grammy and Dove Award winner appeared in an online social distanced duet with Just Sam, an American Idol finalist.
Here is that duet performance!
In the course of the season finale, the two also had a chance to chat online as well. The conversation between the singers included musical small-talk, but also went to deep spiritual places, where Just Sam found a change for the better.
I had so much fun last night on the @AmericanIdol Finale and connecting with @CoJustsam — keep smiling girl, and CONGRATS to you!! We had an amazing time at @theryman capturing it all ✌🏼✨🎙 pic.twitter.com/kiTxKCXT1q— Lauren Daigle (@Lauren_Daigle) May 18, 2020
